Why I built this
I built Flood Aware because flash floods can become deadly when people do not realize that a specific campsite, trailhead, or road is at risk. National Weather Service alerts and United States Geological Survey gauge data exist, but they are scattered across technical sites. Flood Aware brings that information together around one exact spot, helping hikers, campers, and road-trippers make a better-informed decision while still following official warnings.
