What this checks

Awareness, not a warning. This tool helps you think ahead — it never replaces official NWS warnings or local authorities. If authorities say move, move.
  • Never drive through flooded roads — 6 inches of water can knock you down, 12 inches floats a car. Turn around, don't drown.
  • Avoid low-water crossings, dry washes, and slot canyons when rain is forecast upstream.
  • At night you can't see rising water — camp on high ground, never in a wash.
