Hi, I'm Anubhav.
I build free tools for fun — and I believe good software should quietly make the world a little better.

I'm Anubhav Jindal, a software engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area. Flood Aware began as the flash-flood safety check I wanted for my own camping trips — live NWS alerts, forecast rain, and nearby creek levels for my exact pin, in plain language. No sign-up, no ads, no tracking.
I build in the open and for everyone: campers eyeing a slot canyon, families planning a road trip, anyone who'd rather know before they go. If a tool saves you five minutes or teaches you one thing, it was worth building.
Free forever. Private by design.
Everything I build is free, needs no account, shows no ads, and collects no personal data. Flood Aware pulls live alerts and forecasts from public sources (listed below) — your pin is used only to fetch your check, and is never stored, sold, or tracked.
When I'm not building
I'm usually out with my camera — landscapes, street scenes, the occasional galaxy — or stargazing through my telescope. I hunt down music from new corners of the world (thirteen languages and counting), and I cook: dal chawal and dosa on regular days, brownies and pizza when I'm baking.
Found a bug? Have an idea?
I read every email — bug reports, tool ideas, or just a hello.
✉️[email protected]Where the numbers come from
Flood alerts & forecast rain: US National Weather Service · Observed rain: NWS weather stations · Creek levels: USGS streamgages. All of it is live data, so the app needs an internet connection. Flood Aware offers awareness, not warnings — always follow official instructions.
