For JobTrail Capture and JobTrail Autofill · Last updated October 10, 2026
The short version
Both extensions are local-first. Your job applications, your profile details, and everything you capture stay in your own browser. We run no accounts, no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no servers that receive your data.
JobTrail Capture — what it does with data
- When you visit a supported job page (LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday), the extension reads the job title, company, location, posting URL and platform job ID from the page so it can show you a capture badge.
- Nothing is captured or sent anywhere until you click. On your click, the job details are handed to the JobTrail page you have open (
anubhavjindal.com/apps/jobtrail/) and stored in that site's localStorage on your device.
- The extension requests only the storage permission (to remember its own settings). It asks for no host permissions beyond the job sites it augments.
JobTrail Autofill — what it does with data
- The profile you type into the extension popup (name, contact, address, links, work authorization, voluntary EEO fields) is stored with the storage permission in your browser only.
- When you click "fill", the extension writes those values into the form fields of the page you are looking at. It never uploads them anywhere and never submits a form on your behalf.
What we never do
- No accounts, no sign-in, no email collection.
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or advertising.
- No sale, rental, or sharing of your data with anyone — there is nothing to share, because your data never leaves your device.
- The optional email auto-capture on the JobTrail site is entirely separate: it only activates if you configure forwarding yourself, and status changes always need your confirmation.
