The karaka rule
Parashara's rule: for every Lagna, the lords of the 1st, 5th and 9th houses are benefics (karaka) — wear their stones. Lords of the 3rd, 6th and 11th are malefic (akaraka) — never wear theirs. Strength by sign (exalted/own/debilitated) and house placement refine the pick. Some stones clash — Ruby with Blue Sapphire, for instance — and are flagged.
Stones are potent, especially blue sapphire and red coral. This engine shows the classical logic — always confirm with an experienced astrologer before wearing.
How this is calculatedMethodology
Each planet is scored: +40 functional benefic, −30 functional malefic, ±15 for dignity, −15 in dusthana houses (6/8/12). The top scorer is suggested with wearing day, finger and metal per tradition.
